It’s been a very busy week. Today we began planting a new section of vineyard. Though our farm is too far from the lakes and therefore too cold to plant our signature varietals of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay, we are planting a small block of Diamond grapes. This hybrid was developed in the 1880s specifically for our area. We currently produce a small amount of Diamond (available to Wine Club members [link]) as a sparkling dessert wine and currently source our grapes from Keuka Lake. Hopefully, beginning in 2016 or 2017, we will be producing the wine from our estate grapes.
